イースター休みの時、たくさん学生は　家にかえって、なにかおいしいものを　食べて、ゆっくりをして、　ねます。　でも、　ノートルダム大学に　たくさん学生が　とてもつまれないです。

私はシンダレラです。

こんばんは　みんなさん！

ブラグのポストを　するのが　ひさしぶりですね。　たくさん　しゅくだいとテストとたのしいもおが あって、　とても　いそがしかったですから、時間が　ありませんでした。　ほんとうに　ごめんなさい！

私の一年生日本語のクラスは ポッドキャストプロジェクトがあるんけど、トマッソンちゃんと　リヴソくんと　いっしょに　たのしかったですよ。　そうして、ふるい日本語の学生のアヤラくん　とパークちゃんは　ピカピカのたちと　ヴィデオを　作りました。

私は　actressとシンダレラです。　アヤラくんは　私のかっこいいおうじで、トマソオンちゃんは　fairy godmotherで、リブスくんは　人のカメラで、　パークちゃんは　ポルヅサーです。　ピカピカのたちが　たたかい「fight」ですから、　えいがが　なかったとおもいます。　でも、ゆうじょう「friendship」が　ここに　あるから、　だいじょうぶですね！

♥ バレンタインのチョコレート ♥

私の大学のにほんクラブは　先週の週末に　かわいいエベントが　ありました。　バレンタインチョオレートを　つくりました。

In 日本, the girls give chocolates as a "confession" to the boy they are crushing on (ほんめいチョコ）. Usually, ONLY girls give Valentine's Day presents to men, and women receive nothing in return. But don't get too excited, guys. Of course, there are also chocolates handed out in friendship or obligation, like those to bosses, colleagues etc. called ぎりチョコ。 It literally means "obligation chocolates." Personally, it sounds more like, "I'm giving this to you because I don't have a choice," though close friends have no awkwardness in this at all. A month later on March 14th is a Japanese holiday called White Day. It is the day where the men return the women's gifts with a gift of their own at least twice or thrice the value of the original gift. I like THAT holiday ;)

 First, you must melt down some chocolate. You can add dye or mint to them and use various flavors for a hint of creativity.

Then you must pour the chocolate into molds and freeze them so they keep shape.

 Finally - Tada! Pretty and yummy chocolates to share with everyone. Spread the luuuuuuurve, guys! :)

To those who don't know: デトノートは　おもしろくてたのしいまんがと　アニメです。このまんがは　一番すきなまんがです。Aaaaaaand, it's amazing. The main plotline revolves around Light Yagami (a genius college student), L (a genius detective), and Ryuku (a しにがみ, or a death god). しにがみare supposed to reap human lives from the "Other World". They use an innocuous little notebook called a Death Note to do their job. In fact, rule number 1, as written in the notebook, says:

「"The human whose name is written in this note shall die."」

すしが　とてもおいしいですね～


先週の週末は　ホンさんとリーヴスさんと　そとで　しょくじをしました。私は　たくせんすしをたべて、ホンさんは　やきそばをたべました。　リーヴスさんは　すしが　好きじゃないので、ステーキを　たべました。

 

私のすしの中で　一番　だいすきは　うなぎのすしです。　とても　おいしくてよかったです。　このブローグは　おなかがたいています。　今、すしがほしいです。

そうして、　デサーチもとても　とてもおいしかったです。　私は　もちアイスクリムを　食べて、リーヴスさんは　てんぷらのチースケーキを　たべました。　おとこが　げんきじゃありません。

ふゆ 休み

私のふゆ休みは　とても　たのしくて　すごかったです。　りょしんと　フィリピンと　ホングコングに　いきました。　ひこうきに　にじゅうぷんぐらい　私が　います。　とても　たいへんでした。　でも　そこに　さん週ぐらい　きました。

水曜日に　クリシマスパーテｲのちちうえが　ありました。　あした、木曜日に　クリシマスパーテｲの母上が　ありました。　金曜日は　クリシマスです。　でも、ホンクコングに　いきました。　ファミリと　あいませんでした。

 

ホングコングは　いそがしくて　にぎやかなまちでした。　あそこまちが　とても　だいすきです！　NIGHT Marketに　かいものに　いきあした。　たくさんやすいもの　です。そうした、しゃしんを　とりました。

January 4, 2011に　私のたんじょうびのアーチイが　ありました。　たくさん人が　いって、　とても　楽しくて　うれしかったです。　たべものは　おいしくて　とても　すごかったです！とても　きれいで　りっぱなへやでした！

私のサンクスギビング休み

私のサンクスギビングの休みは　とても　おもしろくて　たのしかったです。ネバダのラスベガスに　かえって、　ともだちと　あいました。わたしのともだちは　まちます。　ハリスさんは　こうきで　ほとうんど　しにました。　でも　今だいじょうぶです。ヅラヴェルさんと　いっしょに　さんぽを　しました。　でも　とてもさむい　でした。　だから、　スタバに　コーヒーを　のみに　いきました。そうして、ともだちと　いっしょに　アイホップに　ばんごはんとあさごはんを　たべに　いきました。でも、まいばん　すしを　たべました。　おいしかったです。　ハリスさんと　いっしょに　セレンヂピチに　Frrrrozen ホットチョコレトーを　のみに　いきました。　ゆうめいなレストランで、　私は　とてもうれしいです。でも、　かなしいものは　ともだちと　ドラマが　ありました。　たいへんです。

You don't need to watch the ending... But there are bloopers and random fun things. Also, the camera kept on going out of focus, so that's what the blurriness was about in the beginning. I have no excuse for the end. :P

わたしのせんしゅうのしゅうまつは　ちょっとつまらないしゅうまつです。　きにょうびに　でかきませんでした。　どようびに　チポトレに　と　わたしのルムメト　ばんごはんを　たべました。　そうして、　フットボルゲームを　みました。　つぎ　よじかんくらい　スカイポを　とわたしのともだち　しました。　わたしは　ベッドの上に　スカイポを　しました。　わたしは　ひまです。　すごいねすねええええ。　：）　でも、らいしゅうに　ペープル　と　ケミスツリノテストが　あります。　とても　たいへんです。　にちようびに　りょうで　しゅくだいを　しました。　わたしも　ベッドの上に　よじかんくらい　ありました。　でも、　もくようびに　ごぜん　さんじゅうじに　ハーリポターを　みます。　せんしゅうのしゅうまつは　さびしいです、　でも　こんしゅうは　とても　たのしです。

Lol, is it terrible that I just spent about 30 minutes looking for these random game show videos? にほんじん really have a lot of free time and creativity to come up with things like this XD



せんしゅうのきにょうびに　ジョルダンホルのケミスツリで　パクマンがあります。　はははははは。　Yes, it actually happened. They chased each other through aisles and stairs in the middle of lecture. Then they left, came back three minutes later, and this time, Pac-Man was chasing blue ghosts. Epic Friday morning.

... That was an interesting way to wake up.

So I'm currently stuck here in Ryan Hall's basement, cowering for dear life. Apparently, the zombie apocalypse is about to commence, so stock up on weapons, people. I should've been stuck down in South's basement. At least they have the food.

Sorry, I just watched Zombieland. Actually, a たつまき　is heading our way, and now the whole dorm's on lockdown. Actually, I think the whole　だいがく is on lockdown.

I woke up this morning, completely oblivious and rather grumpy for having to wake up so early. I got dressed like normal, and apparently, during this entire hour of lethargic habit, a man with a loudspeaker was driving all over campus telling people to stay inside because there was a tornado warning, which means that they've actually spotted the tornado. Aaaaaaand I didn't hear any of this. I was about to leave, ready to dominate that にほんご　test, but then my neighbor across the hallway stopped me from walking out to my death by tornado. Yayyyyy to Ki :)

So now I'm stuck in the basement. Bored. And I'm blogging the possible last blog of my life. You know I'm exaggerating, but hey, at least it's somewhat entertaining. ♥

Awwww, who knew that a giant column of hurricane-level winds spinning in a perpetual funnel of doom could be so romantic?

こんばんわ　みんあさん！

せんしゅうは　あきやすみです。　でも　うちに　かえりませんでした。たくさん マルで　ショッピングを　しました。そうして、　DPACで "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo"を　みました。　えいがは　おもしろいと暴力的な [violent]えいがが　ありました。　でも　いいえいががありました。　そうして、　ほんとに　たくさんねました。わたしは　とても　うれしいい[happy]です！　：）

Now, the somewhat boring stuff:
ノートルダムだいがくは　とても　おおきいだいがくです。　りっぱ　と　きれいな　たてものです。ほんとに　きれいです。　たいぼく[tree] は　あかい　と　みどり　と きいろい　と　ちゃいろい　と　オレンジ　たいぼくです。わたしのりょうも　きれいです。　サオスクアヅに　わたしのりょうが　あります。　わたしのへよは　リャンホルのさんかいが　あります。　とても　あたらし　でも　ときどき　きたないへやです。　はははははは。　：Ｐ　いま　きれい[clean]です。

Ok, I know I've ranted about this before, but the urge is overpowering me. I cannot resist it any longer. Thinking in a different language automatically makes me want to speak and write in Spanish. So I will. Forgive me, せんせい！

¡Hola mi amigos! Español es una idioma divertida, ¿no? No, no es. Hasta aprendé japonés, luego se hace divertido. Sí. Yo me extraño escribiendo en el alfabeto familiares. Estoy seguro que Uds. lo extrañan también, ¿sí? Cada vez que la maestra me pedía una pregunta, siempre quería contestar, "¿¿Cómo?? ¡No sé, no sé!" Pero yo digo, "なに？　わかりません！” en lugar. Es muy triste. Me siento como he desperdiciado cuatros años de mi vida porque no hablo español más. Quizás sacaré una clase de español de nuevo en el próximo año. Quizás. O tal vez iré a España en lugar de Tokyo porque el colegio de la ciencia es muy terrible con los programas de los estudios en el extranjero.

Finalmente, quizás esta vez la última oportunidad para hablar/escribir en español en la universidad. Eso es un poco triste, pero escribiendo esta blog post  me hace contenta. Jajajaja. Hasta luego ;)

ニナの せいかつ

Quite frankly, my たんごの　れんしゃう　are not that interesting. Sadly, I must blog about it. Bear with me, friends, as I explore the mundane tasks that define my life according to the にほんご　vocabulary we just recently learned, and watch for my failed attempts at entertaining you all.

げつようび　と　すいようび　と　きんようび、　わたしは　しちじに　おきます。かようび　と　もくようび、わたしは　はちじに　おきます。あさごけんを　たべません。 まいあさ　くらすに　いきます。　まいにち　にほんごが　あります。。。Yayyyyy.　ひるごけんを　たべません。うちに　かえります　と　うちで　べんきょうします。しゅくだいを　ちます　きいげん、　sadly. :(　じかんを　ありません　てれびを　みます。いつも　がつこうで　げんごけんを　たべます。　しゃわーを　あびます　と　ねます。

I have only one thing to say:

I hope to never bore you again. We just haven't learned the awesome verbs in にほんご　yet like "To Facebook" or "To Skype" or "To skydive" or "To parachute into an open volcano with two かたな　drawn and ready for battle as a fleet of elite にんじゃ　swarm into battle for your head with a rolled up sock." Nope. Not yet. Maybe soon. :)

はじめまして。　カバフグです。　わたしは　ふぃりぴんじん　と　あめりかじん　です。いちねんせいでし。　せんこうは　いがくです。　どうぞよろしく。

 Oh, Japan. Where do I even start? The food, of course. すし is absolutely amazing when done correctly. The boxed sushi that various campus stores sell do not count. In any sense of the word.

 Cute, no? REAL sushi is absolutely delicious. And when I say real, I mean the sushi that's made right in front of you with master chefs that have dedicated their whole lives to the art. Not in a box. Granted, I'm very picky with food, so perhaps I'm over-exaggerating everything. Lol.







And next comes the あにめ　と　まんが. I'm fairly sure that the majority of the people who have signed up for Japanese class was because of the influence of　あにめ。I remember my very first series. It was some obscure series that looked like a blatant rip off of Sailor Moon that played only the Philippines called あかずきんちゃちゃ(Akazukin Cha-Cha).  Unless you grew up in the Philippines, I'm pretty sure that none of you have ever even heard of it. If not, then... hey, I tried.

My name is Ninabeth Cabahug, but you can just call me Nina. If you must question the pronunciation of my last name, then let me say one thing: It sounds like CanIHaveAHug? really, really fast. And if you ask me that, I'll probably respond with a "Yes." Haha. I've studied Spanish for the past 4 years, so forgive me if you speak to me in Japanese, and I'll end up responding in Spanish because my brain is still in Spanish mode. Like Buzz Lightyear. Anyway, I'm going to be a premed student here at Notre Dame. I'm not particularly sure if I'm majoring in Biology or whatnot yet, though I'll make up my mind eventually. My goal is to make it to Harvard Medical School and become a cardiologist that will somehow change the world.

Big dreams, small person. ;)

Although I do not look the part, I am Filipino, and I speak Cebuano, a dialect of Tagalog, fluently. I was born in the Philippines, moved to New York City when I was 7, and then moved to Las Vegas, NV when I was 13. I'm a big-city girl, so this whole transition into the sleepy town of Notre Dame, IN will be a bit shocking and (hopefully not) boring to me.

The entire country of Philippines has a wild obsession with Korea and Japan, and if I absolutely had to answer, this is where my interest in Japan started. There was always the anime and J-doramas and Pocky and Ramune and sushi and every other delectable Japanese export, but above else, I think I'm in love with the fashion. My reason for taking this class is to 1) challenge myself, 2) learn a completely different language with THREE completely different alphabets, 3) go to Sophia College and 4) shop in Harujuku. This will be great. :P
